Earning and Redemption in Restaurants and Spas (participating outlets)
How do I know which outlets are participating?
Participating outlets can be identified by 1) visiting the property's website and their noted outlets, 2) contacting World of Hyatt Customer Service or 3) contacting the hotel directly.
Do I have to carry my World of Hyatt card to earn points in outlets?
No, only a valid photo ID is required. If member does not know their account number, Hyatt Colleagues at participating outlets can look up the World of Hyatt account number with name and email address or mailing address.
Do I need a photo ID?
Yes, member is required to show photo identification to earn or redeem points in outlets (as they are when checking into a property).
How will dining and spa transactions appear on my member account detail on world.hyatt.com?
Member must be logged in on world.hyatt.com to view transactions. Within the Account Details section, member will be able to sort by Dining/Spa to view earning and redemption transactions.

How can I earn Base Points for eligible food and beverage or spa charges when not staying at the hotel?
World of Hyatt members that visit participating restaurants or spas need to provide their account number to the Hyatt Colleague at the outlet at time of payment to process the earned Base Points (5 points per $1USD) on eligible charges.
To earn points when incurring eligible charges at a participating outlet, the member must use certain eligible payment methods (which include cash, check, or major credit cards or debit/bank cards). Please see below and the World of Hyatt terms for additional detail.
What is eligible for earning at restaurants and spas?
Eligible changes vary on a hotel-by-hotel basis, but generally include spa and salon services, spa and salon retail items, and food and beverage expenditures (except at outlets not operated by the hotel). Points will not be awarded on tips, service charges, taxes, gratuities and, in certain jurisdictions, alcoholic beverage purchases. Other exclusions may apply.
Do points earned by making eligible purchases in participating outlets count as Bonus Points or Base Points?
Points earned on eligible charges at participating outlets (5 Base Points per $1USD dollar) will count as Base Points. Only Base Points help a member progress towards tier status.
Will any points earned in outlets count towards lifetime tier?
Base Points earned on eligible restaurant and spa outlets (5 Base Points per $1USD) will count as Base Points and therefore count toward earning tier status, including Lifetime Globalist status. Any Bonus Points earned will not.
Do I receive my Discoverist, Explorist or Globalist tier Bonus Points on the base spend?
Yes, tier point bonuses will be earned on eligible charges on visits to the restaurants and spas.
How will I know that I've received points for my meal or spa visit?
Member's restaurant or spa receipt will display the World of Hyatt account number and eligible spend for point-earning. Member can also view account activity on world.hyatt.com, the outlet name will display along with the appropriate earned points.
If the points are issued in USD, then how will I know my earning when I stay outside the United States?
Eligible spend is converted to USD based on the previous day's Foreign Exchange Market rates.
How do I receive retro credit for dining or spa?
Member must contact the hotel's outlet directly to request retroactive point issuance. (Retroactive point issuance credit timeframes vary hotel-by-hotel.)
How soon will I receive points for my dining and spa transactions?
In most cases, points will be credited to your account at time of payment instantly. If unexpected system outages arise, it could take up to 72 hours to process.
Can I earn points from both World of Hyatt and receive other dining program benefits?
Member must choose to participate in only one of the programs per visit.
Do I earn points if a transaction is refunded?
If a transaction is refunded, points will be removed from the World of Hyatt account equivalent to the amount of the refund.
If I charge dining and spa transactions to my guest room, can I receive double points?
No, any charges billed to a room will only receive points based on the charges reflected on the room invoice/folio and will be posted after checkout along with any other eligible stay-related spend.
Will any type of payment be eligible to earn points in participating restaurants and spas?
To earn points as a registered guest on eligible charges at participating outlets, the charge must be charged to the member’s room or guest folio. To earn points on eligible charges at participating outlets when not staying as a hotel guest, the charges must be settled with an eligible payment method. Eligible forms of payment include cash, check, or major credit cards or debit/bank cards. Ineligible payment methods may include, but are not limited to, hotel House Accounts, charges settled by a company or organization, World of Hyatt dining and spa awards, room charges, charges billed to a unit at a Hyatt-branded residence, point redemptions, award redemptions, Hyatt-branded gift cards, Hyatt gift cheques, or hotel-specific gift card/certificates.
Do point earnings for eligible spend at participating dining and spa outlets count toward tier status?
Base Points awarded for eligible spend on dining and spa will count towards earning World of Hyatt tier status such as Discoverist, Explorist and Globalist.
Can I use my points earned from restaurant or spa visits to redeem for free nights at Hyatt hotels and resorts?
Yes, points earned in restaurants and spas can be used to redeem free nights at Hyatt hotels and resorts.
Can I convert my points earned from restaurant or spa visit to Partner Loyalty Points?
Yes, points earned from eligible spend, including spend at restaurants and spas, can be converted to Partner Loyalty Points with participating partners.

Members may redeem points for a pre-determined dollar value award that can be used as a credit toward eligible redemption charges in participating Hyatt outlets. Eligible redemption charges vary on a hotel-by-hotel basis, but generally include spa and salon services, spa and salon retail items, and food and beverage expenditures at participating outlets, service charges, taxes and gratuities. Awards may not be redeemed on alcoholic beverage purchases in certain jurisdictions.
How do I redeem awards for dining and spa credit?
When visiting a participating restaurant or spa, at the time of payment, member may request to use World of Hyatt points as a form of payment. A Hyatt Colleague will share dining & spa award chart and member will specify which award and corresponding points they choose to redeem. The Hyatt Colleague will be able to advise the total amount available on the receipt that may be paid for by points based on member's current point balance.
How will I know that the points have been deducted from my account?
Final payment receipt will display the award credit applied to check along with an award authorization/reference number. Member may also view account online at world.hyatt.com to find outlet detail and redemption amount.
Can I redeem points over the amount owed, under or the exact amount?
Member can redeem points to cover the total redemption eligible amount of a check (up to $1,000 USD). Member may also select partial payment and request to redeem a smaller amount on the dining and spa award chart and then must settle the remainder with another form of payment (remaining charges cannot be billed to a room invoice/folio).
Can I redeem points and spend cash in the same transaction?
Yes. Once member has redeemed points for a dining & spa award, member may pay the remaining balance with another form of payment (cash, check or credit card).
Can an award transaction be refunded/reversed?
Yes, member must contact the restaurant or spa directly to request a refund of a redeemed award.
What items can't I redeem points for?
Ineligible charges may include but are not limited to delivery charges, in-room dining, and catering or banquet charges.
Does point redemption for food and beverage or spa only work the member him/herself?
Member must be present to redeem points in the restaurant or spa outlet.
Can redemption be done on demand or does it need to be pre-arranged?
Redemption must be done on-demand but it's suggested to book any restaurant or spa reservations in advance.
Can I redeem points any time when booking a spa appointment?
No, redemption must happen at time of payment.
